For all shows - here is what we do for advertising/marketing:

1. Marketing on every online and social media platform and all pages we are affiliated with or a member of.

                   *  Facebook (Groups, Pages)                *  UsedOttawa

                   *  Google+                                          *  Linkedin

                   *  Oodle (FB) MarketPlace                    *  Twitter

                   *  Kijiji                                               *  EventBrite

                   *  Ottawa Kiosk                                   *  Ottawa Start

                   *  Ottawa Citizen (Event Submission)    *  Show Smart, etc.
 

2. Flyers (where a bulletin board is found).
3. Road signs up the week before (usually have to replace 90% of them the day before due to weather, etc.)
4. Submit to all relevant stores and services  (ie. Wedding and Bachelorette/Bachelor Shows we would send to wedding stores, suit rental businesses, event planners, flower shops and bakeries, etc)
5. Submit to all smaller newspapers that allow free ads in like a community events section.
6. Email CTV Morning Live and to hosts personally for inclusion in their Community Connections segment of their show and for a possible mention at another time.
7. For general events (not specialized like wedding or bachelorette/bachelor shows but for Health Wellness & Women and Christmas shows we actually will hire a couple of people to hold signs in front of the venue location and major intersection (if funding permits) OR we do it ourselves if it is slower than we expect and want to personally drive traffic.

We DO NOT EVER EVER put flyers on car windshields as that is a waste of time and money (most toss without reading them anyway) and some people get really upset when people do that.
